Public website information

You can read the public library, use the E6B learning calculator and complete the preparation quiz without an account. Calculator inputs and quiz answers are processed in your browser; these tools do not send those inputs to our server or save them to an account. Hosting providers process technical requests, including IP address, browser information and requested URLs, to deliver and protect the website. An email you send us contains the information you choose to provide.

Member accounts and services

The separate member platform processes account and verification details, learning activity, saved logbook information and subscription status to provide its features. Hosting and database services, Amazon SES, Google reCAPTCHA and Stripe support delivery, security, email and payments. Card details are entered through Stripe's hosted payment service.

Advertising and your choices

Advertising is disabled unless it has been enabled with the applicable consent setup. When enabled, Google and its advertising partners may process cookies, IP address, browser information and ad interactions for advertising, measurement and fraud prevention. Public article advertising also applies to visitors without an account. Our consent integration requires an affirmative privacy choice before requesting ads. You can reopen privacy choices below.

Retention, transfers and rights

We retain information for the purpose it was collected, including providing the service, responding to requests and meeting applicable record-keeping duties. Service providers may process information outside the UK; applicable transfer arrangements depend on the provider and service. You can ask us about access, correction, deletion, portability, objection and restriction, or withdraw consent for optional processing, using the contact address above. You can raise a concern with the UK Information Commissioner's Office.

Children and changes

The member platform is not intended for children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has supplied personal information. Material policy changes will be published with an updated date.
